Shawna Duval (b. 1995, USA) is a New England based sculptor whose practice uses objects, installation, and interaction to disrupt the contemporary function of objects as a replacement for social interaction, instead, using them to comment on a desire for contact and a lost playfulness. She graduated from Maine College of Art with honors in Metalsmithing and Jewelry and a focus in art theory. Shawna was a finalist for the 2017 Niche Awards in mixed media and this summer, attended AFFECT 2018: Micro-Utopias: Cartographies of Relational Art in Berlin, a program for collaborative artistic practices.
